STORY OF JOB

Verse 1

Job was a man with god-fearing beliefs

His love for his fam’

And God’s will was deep

With God he was bound

Which allowed Job to reap

All the finer things in life so to speak

So this creep named Satan

Came to God and he told him

Job only praises you

For the love you show him

If you take his money he’ll renounce you

Let me expose him

God said

Don’t hurt him

But put the plan in motion

That was exactly what Satan did

He took Job’s animals, attacked his kids

They was eating

When a sand storm hit the crib

And knocked the house down

And not one of them lived

Job tore his robes and he shaved his head

But he never renounced God

In fact he praised him instead

The Lord giveth and he take awayeth

He said

I was naked born and I’ll be naked dead

Chorus

It rains on the just

And unjust we will suffer

But don’t lose faith

Cuz remember the Lord loves ya

Stay strong it won’t take long

Because it’s just a test

And the answers

Can only be found above ya

It rains on the just

And unjust we will suffer

But don’t lose faith

Cuz remember the Lord loves ya

Stay strong it won’t take long

Because it’s just a test

And the answers

Can only be found above ya

Verse 2

Satan went back and he was obviously angry

God said

Fool, I told you he wouldn’t blame me

Satan said

I need to hurt him, physically scar his tissue

You let me do it

And I’ll bet you that will make him dis you

God said

Go ‘head, but take his life you can’t though

Devil gave him sores head to toe

And they were painful

His wife grew bitter, her heart filling with disdain

Cuz she had to watch the man she loved

Laying sick in pain

Time passed and Job cursed the day of his birth

His friends mourned his loss

And everybody was hurt

He not only lost his health

But everything he had of worth

But he never lost his faith in the ruler of the earth

Job still repented though he suffered for so long

The devil was defeated

He was nothing short of wrong

Job got his health back

And everything he ever owned times two

Trust in God – that’s the moral of the song

Repeat Chorus

God, please grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and…
